Most
people who know America know Mount Rushmore.
Most people who go there go to see the
colossal statue of four American Presidents.
The faces depicted in the mountain are
(left to right) George Washington, Thomas
Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham
Lincoln. They represent the greatest men
who spanned over one hundred and fifty
years of American history. It took four
hundred workers some fourteen years (1927
to 1941) to complete the task, turning
a chunk of mountain into a national monument.
Of course there’s more to the park
then the statues. Mount Rushmore National
Memorial is located in South Dakota, and
many types of plant and animals that frequent
South Dakota can be found at the monument.
There are many trails, both to give people
an excellent view of the monument and
to give hikers a walking tour of the countryside.
All images are for sale.
