Known
as the North American home of the Mormon
faith, Utah is a square shaped state that
is located in the south west of the country.
Located next to states like Colorado and
Nevada, Utah can be very rugged at times.
Utah has cold mountain ranges, snow capped
peaks, and deep valleys. Driving though
Utah is quite an experience, with vista
after vista opening up before ones eyes.
In the northern part of the state is something
called The Great Salt Lake. This lake
is many times saltier than the Pacific
or Atlantic Ocean and its waters were
supposedly once part of the Pacific Ocean.
The Great Salt Lake is basically a lake
that is so salty nothing except Brine
Shrimp can live in it. These Brine Shrimp
are sold as “Sea Monkeys”,
or exported as food for fish farms.
Utah can be a bit of a downer to go though
because much of the area has its law dictated
by the Mormon Church. Mormons are not
exactly party people, and they are very
strict about things like alcohol, bars,
strip clubs, and anything else remotely
entertaining. There is one place that
is sure to be interesting when you’re
in Utah, and that’s Dinosaur National
Park. Because of the state’s geology
many dinosaur fossils are forced to the
surface, giving up whole skeletons for
archaeologists to study.
