Yes,
where the winds come sweeping down the
plains… we know already! OK, so
what do we know about Oklahoma? Well,
it is above Texas, it was once full of
Spanish explorers, and it inspired a musical
that strikes terror into the hearts of
boyfriends and husbands everywhere. Seriously
though, Oklahoma is the “pan shaped
state” with the long finger bit
called the “pan handle”. In
the center of the state is a city called
Oklahoma City where there was a terror
incident called the Oklahoma City Bombing.
This tragic incident caused the Murrah
Federal Building was reduced to rubble.

Oklahoma
is an agricultural state, with its main
exports being wheat, oil, beef, and all
sorts of other farm products. It was once
a haven for the Ku Klux Klan who tried
to make it one of the “purest states”
in America, and is today a lot more tolerant
than it was. Oklahoma was once known as
the “Dust Bowl” because during
the Depression Era people lost their dying
farms to record doubts. The book The Grapes
of Wrath starts in Oklahoma and follows
a family as they attempt to relocate to
California.
