New Mexico is a state in America located
in the south of the country, just beside
Texas. It is a hot, dry, arid, desert
filled place famous for its border with
Mexico and its barren nature. Many of
the most popular Western Movies of the
20th century were set (at least partly)
in New Mexico, as the state has in many
ways come to embody the wild expanses
of the untamed Wild West. When Bugs Bunny
popped out of his hole and said the infamous
words “I should have taken a left
turn at Albuquerque”, Bugs was telling
us he spends A LOT of time in New Mexico
as that is where the city of Albuquerque
is located.

Another
interesting fact about New Mexico is that
it is home to many top-secret military
bases. One of the most famous is the Los
Alamos Air Force Base that uses a place
called the “White Sands Test Range”.
This is where the Trinity site is located,
which was of course later inspired the
name of the character of the same name
in the move The Matrix. The Trinity Site
was where the first Atomic Bomb was detonated
in the 1940s. This event changed the world
forever and placed the human species on
the brink of total annihilation.
Of course it is impossible to mention
New Mexico without mentioning a town called
Roswell. Roswell, once the center of a
pop-culture Alien Fetish, is now a pop-culture
tourist trap. Reportedly an UFO was shot
down… well, turn on the Discovery
Channel, they will tell you the rest.
