One
of the smallest states in The United States
of America, New Jersey was also one of
the first states to be permanently settled
by Europeans. The majority of those Europeans
were Dutch, and they would go on to make
a city known as New Amsterdam, which would
eventually become New York City. New Jersey
would then become an English Colony and
be named after the English Island of Jersey.
New Jersey was one of the thirteen colonies
that revolted against British rule in
the American Revolution.
Both British and American armies moved
though New Jersey, as it was a strategically
important state to possess. In order to
get an advantage over their opponents,
and the states became a strategic objective
for both sides. Later came the “Crossing
of The Delaware” where New Jersey
became a pivotal spot indeed.

Today
New Jersey produces much of the east’s
food, such as cattle, vegetables, fruits
and nuts, seafood, and dairy products.
It is a somewhat wealthy state, having
a lot of industrial production located
within its borders.
An interesting fact is that people from
New Jersey believe in a creature they
call the Jersey Devil, which supposedly
an evil demon thing born to a human mother
back in the 1700s. This “demon”
terrorizes the population of a place known
as the Pine Barrens, which is a forest
of epic size. People go hunting for the
Jersey Devil every once and a while, with
the footage looking a lot like the move
“The Blair Witch Project”.
In many ways it us a very silly myth,
even as far as myths go, and has caused
a lot of hysteria over the years.
