Nevada
is the state located directly below Utah,
directly above Arizona, and right beside
California. It is filled with hard baked
desert, where even things like rattlesnakes
fight to survive. Nevada has the words
“Battle Born” on their flag,
and the tale goes that it is because they
were incorporated into the union during
the American Civil War. While this is
true it may seem strange that there is
anyone around to do any battling, as at
first glance the state can seem empty.
While some people come to see Nevada because
they study desert ecosystems, and others
arrive because they were trying to escape
Utah, almost every one (and I mean everyone)
that comes to Nevada comes to gamble.
The most famous city in the state, and
perhaps the country, is Las Vegas. Las
Vegas of course needs no explanation.

Advice
to those going to Nevada: 1) Make sure
your gas tank is full, because there might
not be a gas station for another five
hundred miles. 2) Just because you put
on enough sun block to make yourself bullet
proof doesn’t mean you won’t
get a sunburn. 3) Make sure you have a
map handy, because getting lost can get
you killed. 4) The house always wins.
5) Never accept a ride from a strange
man and his attorney, particularly so
if that strange man claims to be a “doctor
of journalism”.
