Massachusetts
is a state of the United States of America
and is part of the part of the New England
region. Massachusetts is known by school
children all over the country as one of
the hardest states to spell, and many
dread its arrival in a spelling contest.
Massachusetts is home to one of America’s
largest cities, the city of Boston. The
state was named after the Massachusett
Tribe, whose name means "a large
hill place".
Massachusetts was an important state when
one considers the political development
of the Untied States. Massachusetts is
where many of the first settlers arrived
on a ship known to snooty Americans as
the Mayflower. Massachusetts was also
the site of many politically crucial events
such as the Boston Massacre and the Boston
Tea Party, which helped spark the fires
of the American War of Independence.

Today
Massachusetts is considered an OK place
to live, with mild to harsh winters and
mild to sweltering summers. Many of its
small towns have historic and picturesque
settings, which is very popular with tourists
from places like New York City. Because
of its location Massachusetts has obviously
been settled for a very long time and
some if the states residents have been
living in the state since its founding
and count themselves as some of the most
historic people in the country.
