When
you find out that Idaho is next to states
like Wyoming and Oregon it might not be
surprising that it is filled with rugged
and wild areas that have come to typify
the Untied States in the eyes of people
across the Atlantic Ocean. Idaho has many
state parks, including the provocatively
named “Hells Canyon”, which
is apparently deeper then even the Grand
Canyon in Arizona. Compared to places
like California and New York State there
aren’t many people in Idaho, but
if you ask people from Idaho that’s
not such a bad thing. Idaho joins states
like Oregon and Montana as for as pleasant
isolation is concerned, and people who
want to leave the filth of the city behind
might try a place like Idaho to rest their
souls.
When most people think of Idaho they think
of potatoes. Big, slightly yellow, and
grown by the truckload, potatoes form
a serious part of the Idahoish economy.
Idaho is part of America’s “agricultural
belt”, and grows all sorts of things
like beans, lentils, sugar beets, cattle,
dairy products, wheat, and barley. There
is also a modern “cowboy”
culture in Idaho, with many Rodeos and
other events linked to communiites that
orient their livelyhoods around raising
livestock.
