To
state the obvious, Central Park is a huge
park in the middle of the New York City.
Way more than your simple “slide
and a swing set” park found in most
suburban neighbourhoods, New York’s
Central Park that is about two and a half
miles long by one half mile wide. It has
been the subject of many books, movies,
television shows, comics, and just about
everything you can imagine, so most people
on earth have at least heard of Central
Park.
Central Park is an oasis for people getting
away from the hustle of “the city
that never sleeps”. People do sleep
in Central Park, many of then having no
real fixed address. Central Park has at
times become synonymous with crime, with
urban legends being centered around people
entering the park and encountering all
sorts of strange things; these things
could be anything from cults to aliens
to muggers to drug labs.

Central
Park was “made” in the 1850s.
People recognized that New York was going
to grow out of control and if someone
didn’t do something there wouldn’t
be a park anywhere. Over the years many
people have covertly suggested that the
land would be better off sold to make
room for more buildings, but most people
look down on such a thought. Central Park
is more than just a “lot for trees”,
and inside the park people can find statues,
sculpture, and enchanted areas that help
one forget that they are currently sitting
in one of America’s “target
zones”.
