The
movie “Ocean’s 11” featured
the infamous Rat Pack robbing a hotel.
In the recent update of that move one
of the hotels to be robbed was The Bellagio.
The Bellagio is, in a way, one of the
“theme” hotels of Las Vegas.
But its theme isn’t pirates, or
lions, or Egypt, or France, or Rome: the
theme of The Bellagio is luxury, and if
you stay there that is exactly what you
are going to get!
Richly decorated, well designed, and beautifully
laid out, the Bellagio may not be to everyone’s
taste but it defiantly makes you forget
that you are in Las Vegas. Gone are the
garish neon signs, blaring video boards,
T&A advertisements, and the ads with
Tony Roma holding a titanic lobster. Instead
there is classical music, a butterfly
garden, and gently placed bouquets of
flowers. The tag line for the Bellagio
is “Imagine The Best of Everything
Presented In A Singular Setting”.
To be honest, as far as Las Vegas goes
they’re not too far off.
The
star attraction of the Bellagio is its
fountain. The feature of many a daytime
info-show, the fountain in front of the
building is HUGE! As the web site says:
“Experience the most ambitious,
commanding water feature ever conceived!
Bellagio's world-famous fountains will
speak to your heart with opera, classical
and whimsical music while flirting with
your playful nature through their carefully
choreographed movements.” It is
an excellent free show with tons of water
shooting up in the air, all choreographed
to music. People sit by the hundreds on
the edge of the fountain (that is really
a man made lake) to take in the spectacle.
If that isn’t enough for you The
Bellagio has a spa, a salon, and a conservatory
with a botanical garden. It also has restaurants,
elegant shopping, and a gallery of fine
art. This is complimented by an extensive
list of bars, clubs, lounges, restaurants,
cafes, and fine dining establishments.
Oh, and of course there is the odd game
of chance… perhaps you might have
come to Las Vegas to gamble? The Bellagio
has you covered, at least until you run
out of cash. But, if you do, at least
you have lost your cash with style.
