This
was my favourite hotel in Fiji. The Oceanside
Burres were reasonably priced and made
me feel like I was in the South Pacific.
Everywhere else, hotels and resorts make
you feel like you're in Florida. The place
sells itself as "Fiji's first Flashpacker
Resort." The term is used to describe
20 and 30 somethings with lots of disposable
income that look for something different.
I fit in this catagory and the place seemed
really well suited for me. It's located
on the Coral Coast and has a beautiful
beach with tons of gorgeous palm trees.
It also had plenty of internet ready computers
and the staff was better then many of
the other pretentious resorts I stayed
at. The food was excellent and cheap.
You can't beat that combination. The only
downside I could see was the number of
British backpackers coming to the place.
It's part of the Fiji Experience tours
and there are tons of young brits with
snobby attitudes. But if you are British
it'll feel like home. I will definitely
come back to this place if I'm ever in
that neck of the woods. The staff tried
to double charge my credit card when I
had already paid. They corrected the problem
without incident but that really tells
you a lot about the character of Fijians.
Happy when paid, but greedy for more.
