Otherwise
known as Federal City, the District of
Columbia is where the American center
of government sits. It is here that the
President of The United States of America
decides which country to invade and which
intern to impregnate. Washington houses
the centers of all three branches of the
U.S. federal government, as well as the
headquarters of most important American
federal agencies. Washington D.C. also
serves as the headquarters for titanic
financial institutions such as the World
Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
Because it houses all of these important
buildings and institutions Washington
D.C. has a lot of important and grand
monuments. The Washington Monument comes
first to mind. There is also the Jefferson
Memorial, the Washington Memorial, the
Smithsonian, and the Lincoln Memorial
(and we’re just getting warmed up).

Washington
is obviously a city dedicated to government.
The entire area is completely taken up
by people working for the government,
people helping people working for the
government, or people helping people see
the government buildings. It is a lot
more secure since September 11th 2001,
and be prepared to get a few funny looks
from security personnel.
